I completed my OBGYN rotation at woodhull this past January and have decided that this is the specialty I would like to start practicing in. I really enjoyed the rotation, the population of patients that I worked with, and the environment in which I was able to learn. I always had an interest in OBGYN when I was learning in didactics and in my own personal experiences, however, this interest became greater when I was watching my first C-section and vaginal delivery. It was truly an amazing experience to be a part of. I loved the education and the care that I observed from the midwives who I worked with and Enjoyed learning about different gynecological issues such as cervical cancer, STDs, and Contraceptives on my gynecology days. I was able to perform and conduct cervical exams, STD cultures, and pap smears on my own and gained confidence by the end of my rotation. I will always remember this rotation and I am looking forward to my career in OBGYN one day soon.
