During my site evaluation, I presented on three different cases of patients I saw on my rotation. One was regarding abdominal pain, one was about dizziness, and the last was about throat pain. I found these to be some of the most common complaints bringing patients to the emergency room. We discussed my cases in detail and we were able to identify areas of improvement that were needed like a better medication dosage for the patient or a different differential diagnosis altogether. It was a great experience being able to present my case and learn from each of them in the setting of my emergency medicine professor and my classmates. I also discussed my article regarding EBV, which was one of my patients final diagnosis, and its connection with multiple sclerosis. I found this connection upon initially researching the disease EBV and found it to be interesting. It made me aware how much of medicine we still do not understand and the need for continued research as this connection was only recently made and the research is ongoing. Lastly, I presented ten drug cards summarizing the main points of these common drugs seen on my rotation. I found each meeting to be engaging and inviting, allowing me and my peers to share our experiences and learn from one another in an open and friendly way. I looked forward to the meetings and always came out with more knowledge than I came in with.
